Beautiful Artifacts is an ongoing photographic exploration of discarded wedding gowns discovered in thrift stores and estate sales. Once chosen for one of life’s most meaningful rituals, these garments have outlived their original purpose. Separated from the women who wore them, they remain as anonymous relics carrying the traces of intimate histories that can no longer be fully known.

I photograph each gown as a portrait rather than a garment. Freed from resale racks and placed in carefully constructed environments, they reclaim a quiet dignity. Their aging satin, fragile lace, and hand-sewn details reveal both remarkable craftsmanship and the inevitable passage of time.

Detached from the bodies they once embraced, the gowns become vessels of memory, absence, and transformation. Their stories remain unknowable. What endures is the gown itself—a silent witness to love's aspirations, its imperfections, and the fragile nature of the promises we make.
